Sentiment turned to sediment, I couldn’t control it (2020) is a sculptural work that investigates the artists' relationship with her hair and the abject connotations associated with it. The work acts as a surrogate for the isolation and separation the artists experienced as a child due to her heavy consumption of western media and pop culture. Sentiment turned to sediment, I couldn’t control it investigates what it means to be white, translating the challenging experience of growing up in a western world that has preconceived notions of desirability.
